Based primarily out of the New Orleans City Park and the marshlands of Lafourche parish, Fragile Land is about loss and regeneration and is inspired by the ironic writings of New Orleans novelist, Walker Percy. (i.e., Thanatos Syndrome, Love in the Ruins).
Working through the grief of a broken city, the park and marshlands has become a mirror for our collective suffering and concerns for the future of a land that nourishes us emotionally, spiritually and physically. Even in it’s beat up glory, I watch nature heal itself and witness it heal humans, despite our relentless assault on its and our own survival.
