Michel Varisco photographed Shelbey Leco underwater with her grandfather’s homemade trawling net. Shelbey’s artwork and the oral histories of her grandfather are featured in “Roots in the Water,” a traveling exhibition. Up from May through August 2019 at Jean Lafitte National Park Preserve then Leo E. Kerner Multi-Purpose Center at 4917 City Park Drive, Lafitte.
